ABOUT DOUG GEINZER
Since 1993, Las Vegas-based Recruiting Nevada has worked on the frontline to strengthen Nevada’s economy through socially responsible recruiting via the Internet. Leading the efforts is Doug Geinzer, founder of Recruiting Nevada.
Some of Geinzer’s first and most utilized areas of focus include Nevada’s weakest points of employment: nursing, teaching and engineering. However, Recruiting Nevada now addresses workforce shortages from all industries.
Recruiting Nevada was acquired by the Greenspun family in 2008 and Geinzer is now responsible for a portion of online strategies for LasVegasSun.com in addition to the Recruiting Nevada network of employment websites.
Geinzer has been the recipient of many awards including Entrepreneur of the Year, Top 40 Under 40, Most Innovative Business, Most Influential in Employment and the “Circle of Excellence Award” from the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
Geinzer was the founder and a five-year board member of the Las Vegas chapter of the Entrepreneur’s Organization. He is active and sits on the Boards or committees of the International Association of Employment Web Sites, Society for Human Resource Management, Southern Nevada Medical Industry Coalition, Governor’s Workforce Investment Board, Technology Business Alliance of Nevada, Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, Nevada State College Diversity Committee as well as various Chambers of Commerce.
Geinzer previously owned a media group, which included the Las Vegas Employment Guide; Las Vegas Career Fairs, Las Vegas’ largest career fair company; Las Vegas Job Guide; and Diversity2000 – the first diversity recruiting magazine in the United States, which was distributed to every college campus in the country. Geinzer sold the media group to Cox and Landmark Communications in 1999 and then directed his focus to Classified USA! – Nevada’s largest recruitment advertising agency, which he co-owned with Ted Stepien. The company represented such companies as Merck, Coca-Cola, MGM Mirage, Valley Health System and Boyd Gaming.
A veteran of the United States Army, Geinzer exited the Army Reserves in 1996 after serving in a military intelligence unit, infantry unit and chemical warfare group. At the early age of 20, Geinzer was the youngest NCO of the 2-110th infantry after being awarded the Certificate of Achievement for graduating top of his class.
